LOG PROBLEM
What is the length of a rectangle that has a perimeter of 15.5 cm and a width of 3.4 cm?

Solution
P=2(l+w)
15.5cm = 2(l + 3.4cm)
15.5cm = 2l + 6.8cm
8.7cm = 2l
4.35cm = l

WORK TODAY
I passed back the quizzes dealing with the Distributive Property and combining like terms.
We also solved the following problems:
1: 4(3x + 6) + 4(4x + 4)
2: 2(6x + 3) + 6(9x + 8)
3: 3(9x + 5) + 5(5x + 6)
4: 9(8x + 5) + 4(7x + 7)
5: 2(3x + 9) + 3(7x + 1)
7: 5(5x + 2) + 7(9x + 1)
8: 6(3x + 1) + 2(7x + 5)
9: 7(6x + 3) + 3(9x + 1)
10: 9(2x + 2) + 8(4x + 9)
11: 8(7x + 1) + 2(7x + 4)
12: 7(3x + 9) - 9(9x + 8)
13: 9(6x + 1) - 2(6x + 7)
14: 6(3x + 3) - 8(5x + 3)
15: 8(4x + 3) - 2(2x + 6)

HOMEWORK
1: -5(3x + 6) - 4(4x + 4)
2: -6(6x + 3) - 6(9x + 8)
3: -4(9x + 5) - 5(5x + 6)
4: -3(8x + 5) - 4(7x + 7)
5: -8(3x + 9) - 3(7x + 1)

Solutions to first two problems:

1: -5(3x + 6) - 4(4x + 4)
-15x -30 -16x -16
-31x - 46

2: -6(6x + 3) - 6(9x + 8)
-36x - 18 -54x -48
-90x - 66
